The sale price of the targeted paddy of 1.60 lakh metric tonnes amounted to taka 194 crore.

All the farmers of the said unions are passing days in hardship.

Farmer Probhakar Tang Panna from Kamargaon village under Chamardani union said, "During this time of the year, the granaries of the farmers were supposed to be filled in with paddy but now those are empty as the paddy fields within the embankment built by Water Development Board under Gurma Project went under water.

Md. Abdul Aowal, Chairman of Joysree union, said that about 500 farmers of Sadipur, Kadipur and Swaraswatipur have been starving. The little quantity of paddy they reaped could not be dried up due to want of fields and sunlight.
